MINNEAPOLIS-Per the official Twitter account of the Minnesota Vikings Wednesday afternoon, the franchise announces it has signed former Southern Utah University football star, linebacker Mike Needham.
Needham, who was signed by the Arizona Cardinals this past April as a rookie free agent but was subsequently released, will likely have a chance to go to training camp with the Vikings, which commences July 24 for rookies.
Needham amassed 100 tackles and 7 pass breakups last season for the co-Big Sky Conference champion Thunderbirds.
At 6’3″ and roughly 235 pounds, Needham has the size NFL teams seek after in their linebacking corps.
If nothing else, Needham has come into a propitious situation as the Vikings were the NFC runners up in 2017 and are considered among the more talented teams in the NFL.
