Libby Sugg Nets All-American Honors For BYU Softball

PROVO, Utah-Wednesday, Brigham Young softball star Libby Sugg was honored for her stellar achievements this season in leading the Cougars into the NCAA Tournament.

The junior out of Franklin, Tenn. was named an NFCA third-team All-American and played a key role in the Cougars posting a record of 36-22 on the season and winning the West Coast Conference championship.

In 2018, Sugg led the Cougars in batting average (.423), RBI (64), hits (63), doubles (13) and home runs (11).

Additionally, Sugg earned other honors during the season, including making the NFCA all-Pacific Region second team and becoming an All-West Coast Conference first team selection.

Sugg was named as the WCC’s player of the week three times this season as well. She was one of 54 student-athletes from 35 different institutions to be selected and the only one representing a Utah-based university.
