DALLAS-Monday, BYU head football coach Kalani Sitake was named as a finalist for the 2020 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award, joining eight other contenders.
Sitake, who is 37-26 (.587) in his fifth season at BYU, led the Cougars to a 10-1 record in 2020, headed into Tuesday’s roofclaim.com Boca Raton Bowl against Central Florida at Boca Raton, Fla.
Sitake is contending for the title with the following coaches:
Tom Allen, Indiana
Brent Brennan, San Jose State
Matt Campbell, Iowa State
Jamey Chadwell, Coastal Carolina
Karl Dorrell, Colorado
Luke Fickell, Cincinnati
Nick Saban, Alabama
Dabo Swinney, Clemson
Saban and Swinney have led their squads to The College Football Playoff this season.
The 2020 recipient of this award will be announced the week of January 4-8, 2021, prior to the College Football Playoff championship game January 11 at Hard Rock Stadium of Miami Gardens, Fla.
