Heber Valley welcomes the Utah High School Rodeo Association Junior High Rodeo Finals this Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately for the participants, it’s going to be a wet and muddy weekend of competition. This year is the largest finals ever with five performances, rather than the typical three rounds. Competition starts at 9 am and 5 pm daily at the Wasatch County Rodeo Arena on Southfield Road. This year a young cowgirl, Makynli Motley a 13-year-old from Wallsburg is one of the contestants. She will be competing in the pole bending, goat tying, and ribbon roping, and has placed in the top ten in breakaway roping every rodeo this season. We wish all our Wasatch County contestants success in their events. High School Rodeo Finals are scheduled for June 3 – 8, for more information go to UHSRA.org Photo credit: Rodeo News
