SALT LAKE CITY-Thursday, the Utah Jazz signed a pair of noteworthy free agents in rookie forward Juwan Morgan and 2nd year guard Trevon Bluiett.
Morgan, a former standout at Indiana, played on the Jazz’s Summer League squad at both Salt Lake City and Las Vegas this summer.
During the Las Vegas Summer League, Morgan, a 6-8 232-pound prospect, netted 6.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
During his senior season with the Hoosiers, he posted 15.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game for head coach Archie Miller’s squad.
For his achievements, Morgan was named to the third team on the All-Big Ten squad.
Bluiett, a 6-6 215-pound standout, spent last season with the New Orleans Pelicans after a stellar career at Xavier of Cincinnati in the Big East Conference.
During his career with the Musketeers, Bluiett averaged 15.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
He had a 2-way contract with the Pelicans, enabling him to play for New Orleans as well as their NBA G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks and later the Salt Lake City Stars.
His stint with the Stars put him on the Jazz’s radar and he availed himself well, netting 13.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
