DES MOINES, Iowa-Saturday, in her final meet as member of the University of Utah’s track and field team, Grayson Murphy placed seventh in the USATF Track and Field championship meet Saturday at Drake University.
Murphy was the top collegiate finisher in her event, the women’s 3000-meter steeplechase, posting a time of 9:54.16.
She made up ground in the seventh lap (the last full lap around the track), moving up five spots from 12th place, a noteworthy accomplishment to place where she did.
In her decorated collegiate career for the Utes, the Salt Lake City native was a five-time All-American.
