PROVO, Utah-Tuesday, former Wasatch High School star athlete Talem Franco became an indoor track All-American via an announcement from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Franco, who is a senior-to-be at BYU, achieved this distinction in the mile.
The returned Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints missionary in the Tahiti Papeete Mission ran a time of 3:58:09 in the mile February 1 at the UW Invitational hosted by the University of Washington at Seattle.
This qualified him for the indoor track and field national championships which were canceled because of COVID-19.
Franco is one of 11 indoor track and field All-Americans for the Cougars representing both the men’s and women’s squads.
