PROVO, Utah-Late Thursday, Brigham Young University men’s basketball announced that the NCAA informed them it has concluded its review for the reinstatement request of guard Nick Emery and granted it.
As part of his reinstatement conditions, Emery, a junior out of Alpine, Utah, is required to sit out the first nine games of the 2018-19 season.
Emery sat out the 2017-18 season for BYU after withdrawing from school and will rejoin the Cougars’ basketball program this summer with two years of eligibility remaining.
In his previous two seasons for the Cougars, Emery has amassed 14.7 points per game and became only the fourth player in program history to reach 1,000 points as a sophomore.
His freshman season saw him named a second-team All-West Coast performer while also making the all-WCC freshman team.
