ST. GEORGE, Utah-Thursday afternoon, Dixie State baseball commences a span of four games in three days at Bruce Hurst Field.
The 3-1 Trailblazers will host Northwest Nazarene Thursday at 4:00 pm and have another game against the Nighthawks Friday at 11:30 am.
They will then host the Cal State Los Angeles Golden Eagles Friday at 3:00 pm and again Saturday at 3:00 pm.
The Trailblazers’ Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference brethren, the Colorado Mesa Mavericks, will also compete at Bruce Hurst Field this weekend.
Thursday, Dixie State will trot out reigning RMAC pitcher of the week Jayden Murray. In the first Friday game, the Trailblazers will go with redshirt junior right-handed pitcher Preston Hannay in his season debut. Dixie State will go with sophomore left-handed pitcher Jack Gonzales in Friday’s second game.
Saturday, the Trailblazers will go with right-handed redshirt senior Kaivon Kealoha.
Dixie State is 5-1 all-time against Northwest Nazarene and Thursday afternoon’s game is the first match-up in the series since 2016.
The Trailblazers lead the Golden Eagles 9-3 all-time and have won five straight games as well as eight of the last nine in the series.
This is Dixie State and Cal State-Los Angeles’ first meeting since 2014.
