ST. GEORGE, Utah-Friday, Dixie State baseball (6-2 on the season) commences a four-game homestand against the Montana State-Billings Yellowjackets at Bruce Hurst Field.
The Trailblazers will play a single game Friday at 1:00 pm followed by a Saturday doubleheader (12:00 pm, likely 3:00 or 3:30 pm) and a single game on Sunday with an opening pitch at high noon.
Dixie State’s strong start to the season has them ranked 20th nationally in this week’s NCBWA NCAA Division II poll.
The Trailblazers will start Friday with their ace, Jayden Murray, who is 2-0 on the season.
Saturday, Dixie State will ride with right-handed sophomore pitcher Jack Gonzales in the first game and redshirt junior right-handed pitcher Preston Hannay.
Sunday, the Trailblazers will go with right-handed redshirt senior Kaivon Kealoha.
Dixie State has traditionally dominated Montana State-Billings as they lead the Yellowjackets 22-5 all-time and have won 10 out of the last 12 in the series.
However, last season in St. George, the Yellowjackets did take two of three games in the series.
