GOLDEN, Colo.-Michael Zeman had 22 carries for 183 yards and a pair of scores as the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers downed Dixie State 35-27 Saturday at Marv Kay Stadium at Campbell Field in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference college football action.
Signal-caller John Matocha had an efficient game for the Orediggers, completing 15 of 26 passes for 117 yards and a pair of scores while running for 95 yards and another score on 18 carries.
Josh Johnston was the Orediggers’ leading receiver, hauling in five passes for 53 yards and a score for Colorado School of Mines, as they clinched a share of their second consecutive RMAC championship by improving to 10-0 on the season and 9-0 in conference play.
Kobe Brewster added an interception for Colorado School of Mines with Nolan Reeve and Scott Adams each posting sacks for the Orediggers.
In defeat, the Trailblazers were paced by quarterback Keaton Mott (15-37, 279 yards, TD/INT) and receiver Dejuan Dantzler (10 rec, 234 yards, TD).
The 7-3 (6-3 in RMAC play) conclude the regular season Saturday November 16 at home against the Adams State Grizzlies for Senior Day at Trailblazers Stadium with a 12:00 pm kickoff.
