BYU Senior Associate Athletic Director Gets LDS Church Calling

SALT LAKE CITY-Per an announcement this weekend made by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, BYU senior associate athletic director and senior woman administrator, Liz Darger, was named to the seven-member general board of the Church’s Young Women organization.

As a member of this board, Darger counsels with the Young Women’s General Presidency concerning the needs of young women of the Church in their local areas.

In her current position for BYU’s athletic department, she serves as the campus Title IX liaison, overseeing human resources, student-athlete welfare, gender equity, diversity and inclusion efforts.

She also serves as the sports administrator for women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, women’s gymnastics, the spirit squads and men’s and women’s track and field.

She is a 2000 graduate of Brigham Young University, earning a bachelor’s degree in family science as well as a master’s degree in school counseling psychology in 2004.

The Boise, Idaho native is also currently pursuing a doctoral degree in educational leadership.
