PROVO, Utah-Per a Wednesday statement, BYU football’s game against Northern Illinois has been moved to Huskie Stadium on the NIU campus October 24 at DeKalb, Ill.
Initially, this game was to be played at SeatGeek Stadium in Chicago suburb Bridgeview, Ill.
SeatGeek Stadium is the home of the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League.
Northern Illinois, who owns the television rights and ticket allotment for this game, announced the venue change, citing “restrictive stadium capacity limits and safety measures set in place by the state of Illinois during the pandemic.”
This is the first BYU game on the 2020 schedule to be affected by COVID-19.
Huskie Stadium currently has the capacity for 24,000 spectators.
Northern Illinois leads the all-time series against the Cougars 1-0, pulling off a 7-6 upset in 2018 at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo.
