PROVO, Utah-Friday, BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe confirmed that BYU Athletics and Beaverton, Ore.-based Nike, Inc. have reached an agreement on a new 7-year contract to continue its all-sport footwear, apparel and equipment partnership through 2025-2026.
The Cougars’ relationship with Nike dates back to the late 1970’s when legendary football coach LaVell Edwards had a deal with the athletic apparel company.
The new agreement more than doubles the annual value of the previous Nike agreement and includes annual cash compensation for BYU athletics.
BYU officially became an all-Nike school in 2009.
