Allen Named As Utah Women’s Tennis Assistant Coach

SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, the University of Utah women’s tennis program announced a new assistant head coach.

Head coach Matt Iandolo announced the promotion of Ruth Ann Allen, a 20-year staple with the program, to associate head coach.

Allen, formerly Ruth Ann Stevens, was an All-American women’s tennis player for the Utes in 1992 and earned all-WAC honors every year of her collegiate career (1989-1992).

The Salt Lake City native is in a select group, as one of only three All-Americans in program history and is a 2005 Crimson Club inductee.

In three of her four seasons she was a national qualifier and was ranked as high as #2 nationally in doubles play with the Utes.

Allen lives in Salt Lake City with her husband, Jason, and their three children Calvin, Anna and Roxy.
