Willow Patch Fire Billows Smoke Near Richfield

SEVIER COUNTY, Utah-Per the latest information on the Willow Patch fire, released Monday at 8:45 am MDT, the blaze is 50 percent contained and has burned 4,711 acres thus far as reported by KUTV-Channel 2 of Salt Lake City and Utah Wildfire.

This fire started Friday June 29 as of 3:15 pm MDT east of Richfield along S.R. 24, resulting in the highway’s closure.

As the fire has shifted eastward, S.R. 24 has closed several times, only to be reopened again, based on the intensity of the blaze.

Drivers are encouraged not to stop along S.R. 24 where the fire is visible from the road.
