Wednesday Stats For COVID-19

SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, Utah’s COVID-19 statistics for the day were released.

Presently, there have been 7,710 total cases of COVID-19 in the state, an increase of 192 cases from the previous day. This is a net increase of 58 cases from the previous day.

There have presently been 179,664 total tests administered for COVID-19 which is an increase of 2,353 tests from the previous day.

With the 192 positive tests out of the 2,353 tests administered, this increases the overall positive test percentage to 4.29 percent.

In the past 24 hours, 8.15 percent of those tested for COVID-19 returned with positive tests.

Presently, there have been 631 hospitalizations for COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 12 hospitalizations in the past 24 hours.

There have been 90 deaths now in Utah from the virus, an increase of two in the past 24 hours. These two new deaths are a female Salt Lake County resident between 60-85 years old who was a long-term healthcare facility resident and a male Utah County resident between 60-85 years old. It is unknown if his status was hospitalization or being a long-term healthcare facility resident.

Wasatch County has 217 cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday’s totals. This is an increase of five cases from the previous day and there are also 10 hospitalizations and one death from the virus in the county. The death occurred April 10.
