SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, the COVID-19 statistics for Utah were released.
Presently, there are 8,706 cases of COVID-19 in the Beehive State. However, the further statistic attest that of these, there are only 3,207 active cases of COVID-19 in Utah.
This means that 63.2 percent of Utahns who have been infected with COVID-19 have recovered.
There were 86 net cases in the past 24 hours which is a net decrease of 13 from Monday-Tuesday’s numbers.
There have presently been 200,626 total tests for COVID-19 administered in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 2,034 tests in the past 24 hours.
For the first time in a calendar week, the positive test percentage state-wide dropped. Presently, it is at 4.339 percent, slightly down from Tuesday’s 4.34 positive test percentage.
In the past 24 hours, the positive test case percentage dropped to 4.22 percent from 4.66 percent on Tuesday.
There have been 716 net hospitalizations in the Beehive State from COVID-19. This is an increase of 20 in the past 24 hours.
However, there are presently only 96 current hospitalizations in Utah from the virus. This means only 13.4 percent of those who have been hospitalized because of COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
There were four new deaths in Utah in the past 24 hours from COVID-19, which increases the death total to 105.
Wasatch County presently has 258 cases of COVID-19. This is an increase of five in the past 24 hours. There remain 11 hospitalizations and one death from the virus in Wasatch County. The death occurred April 10.
Utah coronavirus task force officials will give a briefing Thursday at 11:00 am at the Utah State Capitol.
