Wasatch Waspettes Take First 5-A title at Herriman Invitational

HEBER CITY, Utah-This season, the traditionally successful Wasatch High School Waspettes drill team has continued to excel in various competitions.

The Waspettes took their first 5-A competition title at Herriman High School last Saturday by taking first place in the military and kick competitions at the Herriman Invitational.

To solidify their title, the Waspettes also took second place in the dance portion.

The Waspettes earned the state title by besting second-place Alta and third-place Cottonwood.

The Waspettes’ team members include Addison Callister, Alexia Smith, Allie Larson, Alyssa Kennard, Ashlynn Fairbanks, Baylie Booth, Brook Jones, Cassi Earnshaw, Cleo Neekham, Hailey Bredsguard, Jadree Prince, Jo Cole, Megan Leatham, Makayla Rodriguez, Raegan Adams, Sage Danley, Shaylin Adams, Sydney Andersen, Kahri Simpson, Kate Pugmire, Lakyla Cosper, Lexi Pugmire, Madison Ritchie, Shaylin Adams, Whitney Peterson, Addie Poulsen and Kaylie Mahoney.

The team manager was Madison Leatham and head coach McCall Scott played a key role in the state title as did her assistants Alexis Rogers and Abbey Oveson.

The Waspettes are in great position to contend for a 5-A state title January 29.
