DANIEL CANYON, Utah-Sunday, the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office played a role in taking a man into custody who is suspected of a Roosevelt shooting.
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the 911 center was notified of a shooting in Roosevelt around 1:00 pm Sunday in neighboring Duchesne County.
Authorities confirmed they were also informed the suspect, Jason D. Hare, stole a vehicle and took off westward on U.S. Highway 40 into Wasatch County.
Deputies searched U.S. 40 and the Daniel Canyon area for the stolen vehicle.
When the vehicle was located, the driver took off, resulting in the initiation of a police pursuit.
Officials from Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, Heber City Police, the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest and Utah State Parks collaborated in stopping Hare.
While on U.S. 189, at milepost 23, Hare crashed and was safely taken into custody.
Officials later confirmed Hare was receiving medical treatment at a Utah County hospital and will be transferred to jail as soon as possible.
The victim Hare shot in Roosevelt is reportedly in stable condition as he receives medical treatment.
