Friday afternoon, Wasatch County Sheriff Jared Rigby gave an update on the missing boaters at Strawberry Reservoir, addressing various media members.
He confirmed that efforts to find the missing brothers remain fruitless. Dogs were employed to search the reservoir for the men but were unsuccessful.
Accommodations have been made for family members of the missing brothers. The expectation is that the identities of the men will be revealed “at the end of the day,” Rigby commented.
Rigby confirmed that Strawberry Reservoir remains open but the northeastern portion, where the men were lost, is closed at this point.
Rigby said Summit County and personnel from Utah State Parks are using ROV’s, which are underwater drones with cameras on it. Rigby confirmed they are tethered to the boat and this is how they are controlled
