WASATCH COUNTY, Utah-Wednesday afternoon, the Wasatch County Council will meet to discuss expansion of the Heber Valley Airport as well as development near Jordanelle Reservoir.
Other items to be discussed include the awarding of pickle ball bids and declarations for mental health awareness and building safety months.
In regard to the airport, in June 2016, the Wasatch County Council passed a resolution stating the county opposes any expansion of it from a BII to a CII standard.
The Heber Valley Airport continues to be a topic of concern for Heber Valley residents as the city is in the beginning stages of an update to its master plan.
City officials emphasize the outcome of this plan has not been predetermined, nor is it a license for any expansion.
The Benloch Ranch Development near Jordanelle is also a topic for expansion.
It is located south of Jordanelle near Utah S.R. 32 and is comprised of three master plans that have previously been approved.
The council will primarily discuss the resort village area which was part of the original Talisman development.
The Talisman was expected to feature retail, hotels, a golf course and a private ski resort.
This new development is calling for a Fireside resort which is expected to feature 250 detached pre-manufactured units.
The 400 square-foot units would also have individual bathrooms and kitchens and would be used on a short-term rental basis if completed.
