OREM, Utah-Utah Valley University president Astrid S. Tuminez stated it will offer students a multiple of options for the upcoming fall semester.
Among them are face-to-face instruction. UVU will also support remote learning and hybrid classes which include both in-person and online education.
Social-distancing guidelines, facilities sanitation, hand sanitizer stations, increased airflow and the recommendation of face masks are some of the precautionary measures that UVU will use when the fall semester commences August 24.
In a statement, Tuminez said the university’s core values of exceptional care, accountability and results will guide things “during the complexities of these unusual times.”
The Utah System of Higher Education has also released a plan to assist Utah colleges and universities as they resume onsite operations for the fall semester.
System guidelines include
-disease prevalence
-diagnostic testing supplies
-contact tracing
-public health guidelines specific to higher education
-adequate personal protective equipment
-health care surge capacity
-liability protection
-institution plan
