WASATCH COUNTY, Utah-Friday morning, Utah Wildfire shared an update on the controlled burn being conducted by the Heber-Kamas Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in the upper Provo River area.
Per Utah Wildfire, 2,000 acres of this 6,000-acre burn unit have been burned since the burn commenced Wednesday morning.
Unless weather conditions should change this autumn, (the 10-day forecast calls for an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms Saturday, but generally things appear to be sunny and dry overall), the ranger district confirmed they will not burn in this area again until next year.
Nevertheless, fire crews will remain in the upper Provo River burn unit for “the next few days.”
