(Salt Lake City, UT) — A bill restricting transgender students from university housing that does not align with their biological sex is returning to the Utah House after passing the Senate yesterday. H.B. 269, which excludes unisex and single-occupant housing, allows intersex exceptions and requires an “unamended” birth certificate to refute housing disputes. The bill previously passed the House 59-13 and now awaits final approval before reaching Governor Spencer Cox.
