(Salt Lake City, UT) — A WalletHub study reveals that Utah ranks tenth in the nation for the highest housing costs as a percentage of median monthly household income. On average, Utah homeowners spend over 30-percent of their income on mortgage and utility payments, totaling just over 24-hundred-dollars a month. While home energy costs are lower, Utah’s housing costs are above the national average. Researchers note that long-term homeowners are less impacted by current high housing prices, unlike new buyers and renters.
