Utah Most Debt-Ridden State In U.S.

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utahns have more debt than any other group of Americans. New rankings by fintech PR firm Cultural Currents Institute ranks Utah the most debt-ridden state in the nation. A study by the group found the average Utah household owes 138-percent of the state’s average annual salary of 57-thousand-360 dollars. Researchers based the rankings on debts including auto loans, mortgages, credit cards, and student loans. Arkansas, Hawaii, Alabama, and Colorado round out the top five most-indebted states. Idaho is number-six, followed by Nevada, California, and Maryland.
