Utah Is No Longer Drought-Free

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah’s short-lived droughtless streak is over. Approximately five-percent of the state is now in a moderate stage of drought with most of the area affected in Tooele County. The U.S. Drought Monitor’s report from last week noted the drought was back. This update comes just three weeks after Utah was declared drought-free for the first time since 2019. NOAA officials say it could be worse when one looks at states west of Utah.
