(Undated) — Governor Spencer Cox has declared a state of emergency as wildfires have burned over 115-thousand acres across Utah this year. The order, effective immediately and lasting 30 days, allows all available state resources to combat the ongoing fires. Utah has experienced 695 fires so far, with nearly 103 million dollars spent on suppression efforts by local, state, and federal agencies. High winds and dry conditions have fueled fires like the Monroe Canyon Fire, the largest fire in the state this season.
