SALT LAKE CITY-Utah Gov. Gary Herbert has endorsed Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox in the state’s gubernatorial election, slated for June 30 per a statement from the Governor’s office Thursday morning.
Cox has spent the last few months leading the state’s Coronavirus Task Force.
Three additional Republicans are in the race. They include former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr., former Utah House Speaker Greg Hughes and former Utah GOP chairman Thomas Wright.
Former city councilor and Salt Lake County councilwoman Aimee Winder Newton is also endorsing Cox.
