Utah Department of Health Releases Friday COVID-19 Stats

SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, the Utah Department of Health released the latest statistics for COVID-19 in Utah.

Presently, there have been 5,919 positive tests for COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 195 cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 66 cases in the past 24 hours.

There have now been 138,688 total tests for COVID-19 administered in Utah. This means 4,145 Utahns were tested for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, of which 4.7 percent of those tested had positive tests.

This has slightly increased the overall positive test percentage to 4.267 percent from 4.25 percent on Thursday.

There are now 488 hospitalizations from COVID-19 in the Beehive State, which is an increase of 12 from the previous day.

However, there are no new deaths to report Friday as the death total remains at 61.

Wasatch County, to its credit, has no new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. This keeps the net total at 173 positive tests. There have been 7 hospitalizations from COVID-19 in Wasatch County and one death, which occurred April 10.
