KANARRAVILLE, Utah (AP) — Extreme winter weather appears to have played a role in the death of a man whose body was found in southwest Utah, authorities said.
The body of the 22-year-old man was discovered Saturday in Kanarraville, KSL-TV reports.
Authorities have not released the Taylorsville man’s name, pending notification of his family. Utah Highway Patrol troopers assisted with his identification.
The Iron County Sheriff’s Office said no signs of foul play were found.
The man’s car was found crashed and abandoned 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) from the Hamilton Fort Interchange on Interstate 15 during a snowstorm Feb. 9, authorities said.
The condition of the body and other evidence indicate the driver left the vehicle to walk toward Kanaraville and succumbed to the weather, the sheriff’s office said.
