SALT LAKE CITY- Per a Friday statement, leaders of the Utah Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints asked members in Utah to wear a mask to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
The letter reads as follows: Dear Brothers and Sisters: We are in the midst of a global pandemic unlike any the world has experienced in more than a century. The effects of this escalating health crisis are being felt everywhere, with incidents of Covid-19 infection rising dramatically, especially in the United States, including Utah.
Latter-day Saints are not immune, the statement continues, as a state-record 867 cases occurred Friday.
In continuation, the Presidency asks Utah members of the faith to wear the masks in public.
The statement concludes with the charge for Utah-based Latter-day Saints to unite in this common cause for the good of all Utahns.
