(Salt Lake City, UT) – Utah’s attorney general is asking a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit filed by a Salt Lake City movie theater that serves alcohol. The state filed a motion last month in U.S. District Court asking for an end to a long-running suit involving Brewvies Cinema Pub. The movie theater sued the state after the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control decided to revoke Brewvies’ liquor license because it showed the R-rated movie “Deadpool.” The theater claims its First Amendment rights are being violated by a Utah law that prevents serving alcohol during any performance that features full nudity or explicit sexual content.Â
