UT Police Warn Of Scammers Posing As Stranded Drivers On State Roads

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Beware of scammers on state roads. That’s the warning from the Utah Highway Patrol. Seems drivers are pulling over to pretend they’re stranded, hoping someone will stop to help. Once that happens, the suspects apparently offer fake gold in exchange for money. They even use illegal tinted covers to hide their license plates. UHP posted this on social media, saying the scam is an attempt to take advantage of the community’s kindness.
