HEBER CITY, Utah-As of 4:43 pm, the Monviso Fire, burning near Mirror Lake in Summit County in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest has burned 67 acres and is presently 5 percent contained.
Per the stellar reporting of KUTV 2-News’ Rae Ann Christensen, there are more than 100 firefighters battling the blaze both by ground and air.
Furthermore, per Christensen, at least 8 cabins/homes in the area have been evacuated, as well as some campsites.
Homes and a nearby Scouts camp are on standby for possible evacuation moving forward.
Summit County’s official Twitter account confirms hot shot teams will take over as of 6:00 am MDT Saturday morning.
Summit County fire warden Bryce Boyer is reportedly doing “a fantastic job” and his crews are happy that he’s on scene to supervise the fire.
