University Of Utah Pro-Palestinian Protest Leads To Multiple Arrests

(Salt Lake City, UT) — At least 17 people are under arrest following a pro-Palestinian demonstration late Monday at the University of Utah. School officials say the protest was unlawful based on campus restrictions regarding overnight camping. The Salt Lake City police and other law enforcement agencies were called to disperse the group that had set up tents outside the university president’s office. Some protesters reportedly threw water bottles, rocks and metal cans at police. A university police officer was treated for a minor injury. Protesters are demanding the university end any association with companies that do business with Israel.
