Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest Gives U.S. 40 Construction Update

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah-Tuesday evening, the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest gave an update on their construction along U.S. Highway 40 in the Strawberry Valley (Daniels Summit-Soldier Creek) area.

Crews are finishing rumble strips and striping work between mileposts 46 and 52. Drivers are advised to slow down and be cautious throughout this area.

One lane of traffic will be open in each direction with traffic control devices.

Between mileposts 37 and 40.6, pilot car operations with traffic control and temporary striping are in place. Delays up to 15 minutes are possible. On this portion of U.S. 40 for the time being, wide loads (over 12 feet wide) are restricted.

A new passing lane is also being implemented. This means the turn lanes at the Strawberry Marina turnoff will continue to be closed during construction.

The Uinta-Wasatch-Cache Forest advises drivers to plan ahead for potential construction delays and to allow themselves extra travel time and to use alternate routes if at all possible.
