(Salt Lake City, UT) – Utah transportation officials are blaming human error for many of the deaths that happened on state highways last year. The Department of Transportation released the final highway death toll for 2016 yesterday at the state capitol. Of the 280 people who died last year, 77 were killed because of impaired drivers and 76 died at the hands of overly aggressive drivers. Eighty-six of the people who died were not wearing seat belts.Â
