WASATCH COUNTY, Utah-The latest on an accident at Deer Creek Reservoir:

It was confirmed a motorcyclist was critically injured as he veered off the road, crashing into a guard rail, per a report from KUTV Channel 2 of Salt Lake City.
The crash was reported at milepost 23 on U.S. Highway 189.
Trooper Nicholas Richins of the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed the road was closed so a medical helicopter could airlift the injured man to a hospital.
Richins did not reveal what hospital the man was transported to.

Per reports emerging Friday, U.S. Highway 189 is closed in both directions at Deer Creek, tremendously disrupting the evening commute.
Per KSL News Radio traffic reporter Rikki Meece, a crash occurred “with injuries.”
Significant delays are stacking up in both directions, per Meece.
Authorities encourage drivers to take alternate routes to get to Heber City as opposed to Provo Canyon at this stage.
