SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, statistics were updated for covid-19 in the Beehive State by the Utah Department of Health.
Since statistics began being recorded for covid-19 in Utah, there have been 35,012 documented cases. This is an increase of 486 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 77 in the same span.
There have been 475,443 recorded tests for covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 6,039 in the past 24 hours.
This caused the overall positive test percentage to slightly rise to 7.36 percent Tuesday. Monday, this checked in at 7.35 percent after being at 7.37 percent Sunday.
The 24-hour positive test percentage rose to 8.04 percent Tuesday. Monday, this number was at 6.21 percent.
There have been 22,032 recoveries from covid-19 in the Beehive State as reflected in Tuesday’s statistics. This is an increase of 528 recoveries in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 61 recoveries in the same span.
The recovery percentage increased to 62.92 percent Tuesday. Monday, this percentage checked in at 62.28 percent.
There are currently 12,730 active cases of covid-19 in Utah. This represented a decrease in the past 24 hours for the second consecutive day. Since Sunday, there have been 114 less active cases in the Beehive State as reflected in the daily totals. This was a decrease of 46 in the past 24 hours.
Currently, 36.358 percent of all covid-19 cases in Utah are active. Monday, this figure was at 37.003 percent.
There have been 2,109 recorded hospitalizations since statistics began being kept for covid-19 in Utah.
This is a net increase of 43 in the past 24 hours. In the past 24 hours, there are 13 less hospitalizations in for covid-19 in the Beehive State. This decreased the net total of current hospitalizations to 186. The current covid-19 hospitalization percentage in Utah is 8.81 percent. Monday, this was at 9.632 percent. ICU hospitalizations are -9 in the Beehive State in the past 24 hours. This dropped the ICU current hospitalization percentage to 51.6 percent.
Utah is presently at 63.4 percent ICU capacity.
There have been 251 deaths attributed to covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of four in the past 24 hours. This caused the nation’s best death rate to slightly rise to 0.716 percent. Monday, this was at 0.715 percent.
Wasatch County saw four new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the net total to 495 cases. Per the data provided by Wasatch County Health Department health education and media relations coordinator Trudy Brereton, this slightly dropped Wasatch County’s overall recovery rate to 81.8 percent Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, this number was at 82.3 percent.
The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) in Wasatch County remain unchanged in the past 24 hours.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
