SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, updated COVID-19 statistics for the state of Utah were released by the Utah Department of Health.
Since statistics have been kept, there have been 26,033 recorded cases of COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 564 cases in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 47 cases in the same span.
There have been 14,764 recovered cases of COVID-19 in Utah per Tuesday’s totals. This is an increase of 316 recoveries in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 15 recoveries in the same span.
Presently, 56.71 percent of all cases of COVID-19 in Utah are recovered.
There are currently 11,075 active cases of COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 243 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 32 active cases in the same span.
Currently, 42.54 percent of all COVID-19 cases in Utah are active cases.
There are presently 3,689 more recovered cases in Utah than there are active cases. This is a net increase of 73 in the past 24 hours. For the past six days, the amount of recovered cases have surpassed the amount of active cases.
There have been 382,849 total tests for COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 7,007 in the past 24 hours.
This caused the overall positive test percentage to slightly increase to 6.79 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage plummeted Tuesday to 8.04 percent. Monday, the 24-hour positive test percentage checked in at 11.4 percent.
There have been 1,653 hospitalizations for COVID-19 in Utah since statistics began being kept. This is a net increase of 49 in the past 24 hours.
However, the current hospitalizations increased by only five to 197. This dropped the current hospitalization percentage to 11.91 percent. There is one more current COVID-19 hospitalization in ICU in the past 24 hours as this total increased to 84. However, the current hospitalization percentage in ICU dropped to 42.63 percent from Monday’s 43.2 percent.
There are four new deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Utah in the past 24 hours, increasing the total to 194 deaths. This caused the nation’s top death rate to drop even further, to 0.007452 percent. Monday’s total was 0.00746 percent.
Wasatch County presently has 427 cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. This is an increase of one in the past 24 hours. The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) remain unchanged from Monday’s totals.
Per information released by the Wasatch County Health Department Tuesday, department health education and media relations coordinator Trudy Brereton released data for recoveries and active cases this past week.
Presently, 353 of the 428 cases of COVID-19 in Wasatch County are recovered, or 82.47 percent.
