Trump and the Coronavirus Task Force Address Media Wednesday

WASHINGTON-Wednesday evening, United States president Donald Trump and his coronavirus task force again addressed the nation during a White House press briefing.

Trump again reemphasized his desire to get the country back to work as of Easter Sunday, confirming that Americans want to get back to work.

With the deal approved by Congress late Tuesday evening/early Wednesday morning, Trump said a typical American family of four can receive $3,400 from the federal government in hopes of getting back on their feet in these arduous times.

Trump also confirmed an additional $250 billion will be allocated in expanded unemployment benefits.

Following Trump’s remarks, United States Secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin said $4 trillion is available, if needed, to assist in galvanizing the American economy.

Following a question-answer session with press attending the event, vice president Mike Pence said the U.S. has administered 432,000 tests for COVID-19. This easily makes the United States the nation that has tested the most people for the coronavirus.

Pence also spoke of CDC guidance being judiciously used as the Atlanta-based organization will release guidelines for how social distancing laws can be kept as people visit both national and state parks.

Dr. Deborah Birx, the response coordinator of the White House coronavirus task force reminded Americans to look at the new number of cases per day.

In closing, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director, Dr. Anthony Fauci, reminded everyone that with the southern hemisphere countries currently in their autumn season and with winter approaching in June, another bout of COVID-19 may make its way northward as the northern hemisphere approaches winter.
