Thursday Stats For COVID-19 In Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah-Thursday, the latest COVID-19 statistics for Utah were revealed by the Utah Department of Health.

Since statistics began being kept, there have been 23,270 recorded cases of COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 554 cases in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 55 in the same span.

However, this also represents the lowest amount of new cases on a Thursday in Utah in the past nine weeks.

There have been 13,076 recoveries from COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 369 recoveries in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 60 in the same span.

This increased the recovery percentage of COVID-19 in Utah to 56.19 percent of all cases statewide.

Presently, there are 10,018 active cases of COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 182 active cases in the past 24 hours but a -7 decrease in the same span. 43.05 percent of all COVID-19 cases in Utah are active.

There are presently 3,058 more recovered cases in Utah than there are active cases.

There have been 346,386 total tests for COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 3,028 tests in the past 24 hours.

This caused the overall positive test percentage to increase to 6.71 percent. In the past 24 hours, the positive test percentage dropped to 18.29 percent. Wednesday, this checked in at 19.1 percent.

There have been 1,505 recorded hospitalizations since COVID-19 statistics began being kept in Utah. This represents a net increase of 29 in the past 24 hours.

However, current hospitalizations precipitously dropped for the second consecutive day. There are 184 current hospitalizations in Utah, or -10 in the past 24 hours. This includes a -21 drop in current hospitalizations in the past 48 hours.

This dropped the current hospitalization percentage to 12.2 percent.

The number of currently hospitalized COVID-19 patients in ICU dropped by three to 81. The lower amount of current hospitalizations caused the current ICU percentage to increase to 44.02 percent.

Presently, 64 percent of ICU space is being used in Utah hospitals statewide.

There was an increase of three deaths from COVID-19 in Utah in the past 24 hours, bringing the net total to 176. However, the death rate dropped once again, checking in at 0.00756 percent Thursday. Utah’s death rate leads the nation.

In Wasatch County, there are four new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the net total to 414 cases since statistics began being kept. The hospitalization (20) and death (3) rates in Wasatch County have not changed since Wednesday. Wasatch County’s most recent death attributed to COVID-19 occurred June 19.
