SALT LAKE CITY-Thursday, covid-19 statistics for Utah were updated by the state department of health.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 42,915 recorded cases of covid-19 in the Beehive State.
This is an increase of 587 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 166 in the same span.
There have been 555,391 Utahns tested for covid-19 per Thursday’s report. This is an increase of 5,069 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 31,619 recoveries, or 73.67 percent of all covid-19 cases in the Beehive State per Thursday’s report.
This is an increase of 708 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 246 in the past 24 hours.
There are presently 10,966 active cases in Utah, representing a net decrease of 124 in the past 24 hours. Currently, 25.56 percent of all covid-19 cases in Utah are active.
The differential between recovered and active cases in the Beehive State is currently 20,653. This is an increase of 832 in the past 24 hours.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 2,554 hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 35 in the past 24 hours.
There are 190 current hospitalizations in Utah for covid-19. This is an increase of six in the past 24 hours.
The current covid-19 hospitalization percentage in Utah is 7.43 percent. Of the 190 currently hospitalized for covid-19, 80 are in ICU, or 42.1 percent.
Presently, 62.5 percent of ICU is occupied in the Beehive State.
There have been 330 deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of three and caused the percentage to drop to 0.768 percent. Wednesday, this figure was at 0.772 percent.
In Wasatch County, there were seven new recorded cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
This brings the recorded case total to 545. Of those, per Wasatch County Health Department health education and media relations coordinator Trudy Brereton, 460 are recovered or 84.3 percent.
The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County remained unchanged in the past 24 hours.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
