SALT LAKE CITY-Thursday, statistics were updated for covid-19 in Utah by the state department of health.
Since statistics have been kept for covid-19 in the Beehive State, there have been 36,099 recorded cases.
This is an increase of 521 cases in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 45 in the same span.
There have been 485,422 people tested for covid-19 in Utah since statistics began being kept. This is an increase of 4,020 tests in the past 24 hours.
The current overall percentage rose to 7.43 percent from Wednesday’s 7.39 percent.
The 24-hour positive test percentage rose to 12.96 percent. Wednesday, this was at 9.49 percent.
There are presently 23,093 recoveries from covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 561 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 61 recoveries in the same span.
The current recovery percentage is 63.97 percent. Wednesday, this was at 63.33 percent.
There are presently 12,740 active cases. This is a decrease of 48 in the past 24 hours. It represents the third reduction in active cases in the past four days in the subsequent 24-hour report. The active case percentage in Utah dropped to 35.94 percent.
There are currently 10,353 more recoveries in Utah than active cases. This represents an increase of 609 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 2,150 recorded hospitalizations since statistics began being kept in the Beehive State. There are 210 current hospitalizations for covid-19 or an increase of 13 in the past 24 hours.
This rose the current hospitalization percentage to 9.76 percent.
There are four new current covid-19 hospitalizations in ICU, increasing the total to 98 in ICU. This dropped the current ICU hospitalization percentage to 46.6 percent for covid-19. Currently, 67.1 percent of ICU is full in the Beehive State.
There have been 267 deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of seven deaths in the total in the Beehive State in the past 24 hours, raising the death total to 267.
The death percentage rose to 0.739 percent. Wednesday, this was at 0.7307 percent.
In Wasatch County, there was one new recorded case of covid-19 in the past 24 hours. The net case total for covid-19 in Wasatch County rose to 498 cases. The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) remain unchanged in the past 24 hours in Wasatch County.
The last death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
