Tabernacle Choir Cancels Live Broadcast Over Positive COVID Tests Following Mexico Tour

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square is canceling this Sunday’s live broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word after a number of choir members tested positive for COVID during and after the choir’s recent tour to Mexico. While the live broadcast is canceled, this week’s TV and radio broadcast were recorded in Mexico and will air on Sunday. This is the third time the virus that caused a worldwide pandemic is disrupting the choir’s performances. Live broadcasts of Music and the Spoken word were paused for about a year and-a-half during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021. After the broadcasts resume, the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square paused live performances again in January of last year during a surge in COVID cases.
