Sunday stats for covid-19 in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY-Sunday, statistics were updated for covid-19 by the state department of health in Utah.

Since statistics began being kept, there have been 57,875 recorded cases of covid-19. This is an increase of 628 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 56 in the same span.

There have been 716,873 Utahns tested for covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 4,644 in the past 24 hours.

The positive test percentage increased to 8.07 percent Sunday. The 24-hour positive test percentage rose to 13.52 percent Sunday from Saturday’s 12.9 percent.

There are 48,690 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 294 in the past 24 hours but the recovery percentage slipped to 84.12 percent.

There are 8,752 current active cases in Utah. This is an increase of 334 in the past 24 hours and for the first time since June 29, new active cases exceed new recoveries in Utah. This decreased the differential by 40 between recovered cases and active cases in Utah, to 39,938.

There have been 3,326 recorded hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah. This is a net increase of 15 in the past 24 hours.

Current hospitalizations in the past 24 hours increased by 9 in Utah to 129. 3.87 percent of all covid-19 hospitalizations in Utah are currently hospitalized.

Of the 129, 52 are in ICU, or 40.3 percent. The current ICU occupation in Utah is 68.6 percent.

There were no new deaths attributed to covid-19 in the past 24 hours in Utah, keeping the total at 433. This decreased the death percentage to 0.748 percent.

There are five new covid-19 cases in Wasatch County in the past 24 hours, increasing the net total to 671.

The hospitalizations (31) and deaths (7) attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County in the past 24 hours remain unchanged.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred August 28.
