SALT LAKE CITY-Sunday afternoon, results were released for COVID-19 stats in Utah in the past 24 hours by the Utah Department of Health.
There have now been 12,066 positive cases for COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 268 cases in Utah in the past 24 hours. However, it also represents a net decrease of 278 in that same span.
Meanwhile, 7,198 have now recovered from COVID-19 in Utah, based on Sunday’s numbers. This is a net increase of 169 from Saturday and represents a net daily increase of 18 recoveries in the past 24 hours.
This increases the net overall recovery percentage in Utah to 58.9 percent. Saturday, that number was at 58.8 percent.
There are presently 4,837 active cases of COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 99 from Saturday’s totals but is -70 when measured against the recovered cases in that same span.
As of Sunday, 237,951 tests have been administered for the virus statewide. This is an increase of 2,802 tests in the past 24 hours.
This caused the overall positive test percentage to slightly increase to 5.07 percent. However, in the past 24 hours, the net positive test percentage slumped to 9.56 percent with the Friday-Saturday test percentage jumping to 18.49 percent.
There have now been 900 hospitalizations from COVID-19 in Utah since these statistics began being tracked. However, there are only 118 current hospitalizations. Because the 900 hospitalizations are only a +10 increase in the past 24 hours however, the fact that there are two new current hospitalizations caused the current hospitalization percentage to increase to 13.1 percent. Saturday, this was at 13.03 percent.
The death total from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in Utah remains at 121 as no new deaths were recorded from the virus in the Beehive State in the past 24 hours.
Wasatch County saw an increase of four new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the net total to 330. There remain 15 hospitalizations and two deaths from the virus in Wasatch County. The last death occurred May 31.
