Sunday covid-19 statistics updated by Utah Department of Health

SALT LAKE CITY-Sunday, the Utah Department of Health released the latest covid-19 numbers for the Beehive State.

Since statistics began being kept, there have been 34,117 cases of covid-19 recorded in Utah. This is an increase of 785 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 25 in the same span.

There have been 462,822 total tests administered for covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 6,582 total tests in the past 24 hours.

This increased the overall positive test percentage to 7.37 percent and 11.92 percent in the past 24 hours. Saturday, these numbers were at 7.305 percent and 9.01 percent respectively.

There are currently 20,915 recovered cases from covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 494 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 65 in the same span.

Presently, 61.3 percent of all covid-19 cases in Utah are recovered. This is a slight increase from Saturday’s 61.26 percent.

There are currently 12,960 active cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 261 active cases in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 116 active cases in the same span. The current active cases percentage in Utah dropped to 37.98 percent Sunday. This was at 38.09 percent Saturday.

There are currently 7,955 more recovered cases than active cases in Utah. This is an increase of 233 in the past 24 hours.

Since statistics have been kept, there have been 2,033 recorded hospitalizations for covid-19 in the Beehive State. This represents a net increase of 19 in the past 24 hours.

There are 200 current hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah. This is a net increase of 15 in the past 24 hours but the current hospitalization percentage remains under 10 percent at 9.837 percent.

Saturday, this number was at 9.185 percent. The current covid-19 hospitalizations in ICU increased by 11 in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 102. This increases the ICU covid-19 current hospitalization percentage to 51 percent. Saturday, this was at 49.189 percent. The current ICU percentage is 65.1 percent.

No new deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours in Utah. This keeps the overall death total at 243 deaths per Sunday’s totals. The current death percentage in Utah for covid-19 is 0.712 percent. This was at 0.729 percent Saturday.

Wasatch County saw eight new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours. This increases the net case total in Wasatch County to 489 cases. The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County remain unchanged in the past 24 hours. The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
